As its name suggests, the Precision Multi-Drive is a super versatile Overdrive, which you can adjust down to the smallest detail! Queen of the Nashville studios, this OD is a lethal weapon for just about everything from blues to hard 70's. This with the inimitable sound signature of the Texas brand!
Light case, well finished, super quality PCB and parts, everything is there for the Precision to follow you for many years. In terms of controls, we find the usual Volume, Gain and Tone (called Color). With, in addition, 2 mini-toggle-switches that make all the difference! Indeed, these two switches allow you to multiply the possibilities of the pedal, this, in a very musical way and rarely so well integrated.
Describing the Precision Multi-Drive is actually quite difficult. For what? Quite simply because the possibilities linked to its use are enormous. It can be used on a clean base, on a drive channel, on another pedal, to play blues, rock, and more... It's almost infinite. Its great strength is its ability to work well on almost anything. Because we must not hide our face, each pedal is basically developed on a specific amp and works more or less well depending on the amp on which it is stacked. This luck factor is limited to the maximum with the Precision, as with all the brand's pedals which are generally very amp-friendly.
With the Precision Multi-Drive, you have an Overdrive capable of going from the simple TS, to the Bluesbreaker, passing through more dense, or more aggressive, or softer sounds. You can literally play anything with this one, and that's what makes it even harder to describe. If we had to summarize, we could say that the Precision Multi-Drive benefits from the typical sound signature of the Nashville brand. Namely, a very thick lower midrange, tight bass, a raspy upper midrange, and soft and fluid highs. Like the brand's other models, it benefits from a truly remarkable "thickness". Each note is very dense, rich and complex. We get a very liquid drive, with binder and a unique sound signature. The effectiveness of the Color knob is formidable, and the 2 switches really allow you to transform the response of the pedal. This by playing not only on the frequencies put forward, but also on the structure of the gain.
In conclusion, the Precision Multi-Drive adapts to you, adapts to your guitar and adapts to your amp. It is an extraordinary Swiss army knife, with a very beautiful grain, light years away from that of the usual TS and other classics of the genre. The XAct Tone Solutions Precision Multi-Drive does not sound like a pedal, but like an additional amp channel. It's a real tool to put in the hands of guitarists with a real knowledge of their sound, or to dedicate to those who want to go further with maximum versatility.
