First of all, the case, a perfect and extremely qualitative replica of the original model. It's beautiful, it's impressive, it's indestructible and... it must be said, it's amazing! Really. Inside, we find an ultra meticulous replica of the original model introduced in 1973. Everything is there: the PCB type 3003, the values of the components, the "hand wired" assembly and everything that contributes to the sound of the time.
So how does it sound? The Black-Violet Caprid OG is an exact replica of the Ram's Head Violet Area v2.0. A version delivering a massive drive, a little darker than the previous version but with beautiful clarity and almost infinite sustain. Neither too "fat", nor not enough in any way. We could talk for hours about how this drive sounds, but the best thing to do is listen to David Gilmour play his Ram's Head on the solos of Comfortably Numb. It's all said and done, it's the quintessence of the mid-70's Big Muff sound.
