The Joey Landreth Signature takes the dimensions of the impressive Sterling. Here, no compromise has been made, and it is especially on the inside that it shows (in addition to having a very beautiful exterior dress, this head is beautiful on the inside). All components, without exception, have extremely low tolerance thresholds. They are of Military rank. Each component is selected, each head fully wired by hand, tested by ear and played by the entire team before shipment. If you ever have the chance to turn even a button of it, you will immediately understand what it is all about. Quality can be seen, touched and heard.
Its magnificent finish allows it to be not only an exceptional amp but also a very beautiful object.
A +5mm thick aluminum front panel picks up on the brand's classic aesthetic. On the front: Gain, Treble, Middle, Bass (with 1 boost on each slice of the EQ), a Reverb control, a master and a Presence. There are also Speed and Intensity controls dedicated to the 2 Tremolos with their respective switches. On the back: a Send for the Reverb, an effects loop and the usual 4-8-16 ohm outputs.
We connect with a nice Les Paul with everything at 12:00. As on the rest of the range ... it's a big slap from the first notes. Basically, it's a Bloomfield with more softness (we could insert it between the Bloomfield and the Traditional). The attack is ultra-precise and nuanced, the slightest change in dynamics is felt immediately, both on the fingers and on the pick. We have this slightly boomy side which makes the note bounce on the attack with a natural compression of a unique musicality. The signature Two-Rock sound! We engage the Tremolo Bias, it's beautiful, soft, progressive, like on the best of the old F*n*er. We continue with the Tremolo Harmonic and there... it's unheard of! Quite simply the most beautiful tremolo of its kind that we have heard to date, whatever the platform. It's ultra spacialized, it's lush, rich, complex. We've never heard a tremolo sound so good. It is unique.
The controls are extremely precise, you can adjust any way it sounds. The amp takes pedals wonderfully and transcends them. Take out your Fuzz, your best distortions, from the lightest to the most devastating, the amp takes it all, a real treat!
