For this version 2, Strymon has remained faithful to the original box by adding an additional control. Beautiful aluminum chassis, ultra light, PCB at the top, the manufacturing quality is there, it's Strymon, we are at the top of the basket. With its ultra-quiet, high-performance 24-bit 96kHz A/D and D/A converters and a frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz, the Lex is as at home on a studio console as it is in front of a tube amp. . It is made for duration.
The new functions of version 2:
User Interface - A more powerful and intuitive user interface gives you instant control over mic position and distance, WET/DRY balance, throttle rate, output level, and the ability to adjust rotor speed . Everything you need, down to the smallest detail.
MIDI - USB - Instrument / Line Level - The addition of MIDI protocol and a USB-C port gives you the ability to control every parameter on the pedal and recall them via 300 presets. There are two input modes to choose from, each optimized for a specific type of setup (bass guitars with active pickups, synthesizers, effects loops, vocals and more…)
Hardware - A new premium JFET analog input stage ensures superb responsiveness to your playing, and lets you select mono or stereo input at the push of a rear panel button. You can now control the Lex with an expression pedal or a MultiSwitch Plus. An all-new ARM processor delivers more processing power for every nuance of sound, with less power drained from your pedalboard.
Controls:
The buttons: Volume for the output level, Speed for the speed of the effect, Mix Distance for the positioning of the microphone, Horn Level for the presence in the treble, Preamp Drive to add a slight drive at the beginning of the chain and Dry which allows you to have a WET/DRY balance.
Many secondary functions are available, Cab Filter, Bi-Amp etc…
The sound:
We have tried everything on the market. there are some very good Leslie pedals available, but none have the completeness of the Lex, nor its musicality within a mix (take a quick look at our video to see for yourself). The Lex is jam-packed with effect interactions, and the effect is of a complexity and richness that no other Leslie pedal can offer. There is a certain magic that our friends in California have put into this pedal to allow it to perfectly reproduce all the acoustic and mechanical complexity of a Vintage Leslie cabinet. It's warm, nuanced, dynamic, it reacts over a very wide range of frequencies. The Lex is never faulted and remains extremely musical, whatever the settings adopted.
