Coca Comp MKII - Optical Compressor

The OKKO CocaComp is a two-in-one clean boost / compressor, very simple to use and above all, ultra efficient! For this model, the German brand has opted for a small case and a minimalist design. Let's quickly detail the front panel... it will be done quickly, there are only three buttons! Push, Sing and Tone. Push controls the volume level of the boost and Sing somehow brings together the usual Attack / Release / Threshold controls in a single knob while controlling compression in general. Tone, acts as a filter. On the left, you reinforce the bottom of the spectrum by adding dynamics in the bottom. On the right, you gain shine while increasing overall attack.

The first thing you notice right after activating the Coca Comp MKII is its extreme silence. It's rare, we like it, we say it and we have known much more expensive products that were also much more noticeable!
Second strong point of the Coca Comp: transparency and musicality. Whatever the setting adopted, this effect pedal never distorts your signal and always remains musical, without being caricatural. It really is a studio quality compressor plus an excellent clean boost. You can use it without any problem to enhance an acoustic guitar, a bass... It accepts everything. Long story short, the Coca Comp doesn't change your sound, it just polishes it up and makes it even better! Whether you use it to gain punch and definition on a clean channel, or to boost a pedal or a crunch channel and recover dynamics and sustain, it will satisfy you.

For those who want to go further, know that an optocoupler is used for a soft and natural compression (and no, L'Oréal has nothing to do with it! ;). The great musicality of the Coca Comp is largely due to its specific mode of operation. The OKKO CocaComp is a "rising" type compressor. It works the opposite of usual compressors, retaining the attack and dynamics of notes played strongly, and enhancing those that lack level. You guessed it, the on-board circuit in this little white box has absolutely nothing to do with that of the grey, red and orange pedals that every guitarist has already encountered on his way.
