With this stunning Strat-style guitar, MB Guitars delivers a breathtaking replica of the original 1960 to 1962 models.
This custom order model is entirely handmade by Mike Bowes. No CNC machines here: the processes are identical to those of the era, with handwork pushed to the max.
The tonewoods are hand-picked to create perfect replicas. Weight, appearance, drying: nothing is left to chance. The 250-year-old Indian rosewood fingerboards are treated to match the look of original Brazilian rosewood. You could easily mistake one for the other.
The nitrocellulose finishes are meticulously worked for maximum thinness, with a feel and look identical to vintage models.
As for attention to detail, it is simply off the charts.
- Neck plate identical to 1960s vintage models
- Hand-dressed frets, slots cut with a hand saw
- Perfectly reproduced hardware and knobs. Even the screws and the holes drilled in the pickguards are identical to the originals.
- Pickguards made entirely by hand, as they were back then, with discoloration and warping
- Alan Dingwall pickups that capture every nuance of your playing. Smooth, twangy and warm, with that signature "bloomy" attack and a precise bridge pickup that never gets harsh.
