Integrated Gate IG-1N

The Free The Tone Integrated Gate IG-1N is a "premium" Noise Gate, the fatal weapon for those who can't stand extraneous noise. Almost inevitable noise because generated by the pickups of your guitar, the various effects pedals (especially the distortions) and the amps which can be more or less well designed. The brand being known for its high-end products, it was out of the question to offer a Noise Gate of the same type as what some brands offer with more or less success.

Aesthetically, the pedal takes up the graphic style of the other models in the Standard Series range. A pretty blue aluminum case, very light and very pleasant to the touch. Inside, the Yokohama brand does not change anything as usual: it's just perfect at all levels. The pedal is entirely made in Japan and benefits from a top finish and the best components available. Well... It's Japanese!
On the front, it could hardly be simpler: a single button in addition to the mode selector. The pedal has a MIDI input, it can be activated through this.

You plug in the pedal, there are many possibilities: out of the guitar, after the distortion pedals... It depends on what you're looking for. The Threshold knob adjusts the level of the signal that triggers the noise gate. The mode button allows you to switch between 2 modes:
- Noise Reduction : When the input signal level becomes lower than the set threshold value, the noise reduction circuit starts to lower the output level and adjusts the sound attenuation gradually.
- Noise Gate : Mutes the input signal when its level falls below the set threshold value.
It is therefore a question of choosing between a progressive mode and a more radical mode when it is required (generally when you need a very high degree of attenuation).
The great strength of the Integrated Gate IG-1N is its ultra transparency and its extremely natural attenuation. Nothing to do with a Hush or an ISP. Here, you don't lose dynamics, no treble frequencies, you don't distort your sound, don't compress it. How can it be? Well, all this little world is managed by a small CPU which constantly monitors and analyzes the input waveforms and performs high-speed control of them, in order to obtain an optimal output level based on it. This generates a natural attenuation without equivalence.
This is what makes this pedal unique. It's simple, we haven't found a more transparent Noise Gate than the Integrated Gate IG-1N on the market. Full stop!
Another strong point, the pedal integrates the HTS circuit (Holistic Tonal Solution) which is a high-end buffer. Unlike conventional circuits, the HTS performs impedance conversion while extending sonic characteristics in a natural and transparent way. Even when the effect is off, the HTS circuit works. Finally, the pedal has a Lo-Z/Hi-Z switch that allows you to adjust its impedance (this allows you to choose the most appropriate impedance depending on the instrument used).

An essential tool, which has long suffered from a low quality offer. It is now well corrected and we can only tell you all the good things we think about the Free The Tone Integrated Gate IG-1N. A must have!
