CU-416 | Solderless Cable for Audio & DC Pedalboard Wiring

The CU-416 is the cable at the heart of Free The Tone's solderless system. It is the common cable across both plug families: the SL-4 audio plugs for connections between pedals, and the SL-21DCL DC plugs for power supply connections. One cable, two uses, one standard of quality. Made in Japan.

At 4mm in diameter, the CU-416 is the thinnest cable in the Free The Tone lineup. It features shape memory that makes routing on a pedalboard easy, and can be cut to any desired length with standard wire cutters: no fixed lengths, no excess cable. It is the ideal choice for compact pedalboards where every centimeter counts. It is also backward compatible with the older SL-8 plugs.

For audio connections, the CU-416 delivers a natural and balanced sound: present and detailed mids, tight and dynamic bass. The solderless construction ensures total consistency from one cable to the next, without the inevitable variations of hand-soldered connections. For power supply connections, the CU-416 acts as a shielded DC cable: its shielding blocks external electromagnetic interference on the DC line, and its very low resistance minimizes transmission loss from the power supply to the pedals. Effects are powered without stress, with stable voltage. Compatible with DC power from 9V to 24V.
