Ah... The highly sought after ESP MX. Explorer-shaped guitar and symbol of James Hetfield, mythical rhythm guitarist of the Metallica group. Appeared at the beginning of the 90s, in different versions (EXP, MX-220...), this model imposes itself by its massive size and its sound signature - bulldozer - once plugged in. In 2022, ESP announces the end of the marketing of this one. It is therefore to compensate for this lack that we offer you the Navigator N-EX-LTD, the "historic" version of the Explorer from which the MX and its past versions are inspired.
Entirely handcrafted in the Custom Shop Japan, the Navigator range offers historic replicas of the models that made guitar history (Les Paul, Strat, Tele, SG, JM, JB, Flying V and Explorer). The Navigators represent the pinnacle of what the brand can produce thanks to the exceptional attention to detail they benefit from.
This model, manufactured in very, very small quantities each year, benefits from an implacable selection of species and the unequaled know-how of the brand's Custom Shop. The body is very similar to that of the MX-220 but with a slightly shorter pitch (original vintage). The N-EX is built around a very light 2-piece mahogany body (the same used for James Hetfield), a set neck - deep joint - also in mahogany and with a Honduran rosewood fingerboard. It benefits from exceptional binding, a gloss cellulose finish and Seymour Duncan pickups.
