Ah... The highly sought-after MX. Explorer-shaped guitar and symbol of James Hetfield, mythical rhythm guitarist of the Metallica group. Appeared at the beginning of the 90s, in different versions (EXP, MX-220...), this model imposes itself by its massive size and its sound signature - bulldozer - once plugged in.
Entirely handcrafted in the Custom Shop Japan, it represents the pinnacle of what the brand can produce thanks to the exceptional attention to detail it enjoys.
This model, manufactured in very, very small quantities each year, benefits from an implacable selection of species and the unequaled know-how of the brand's Custom Shop. It is built around a very light 2-piece mahogany body and a set neck - deep joint - also in mahogany, with an ebony fingerboard. It has a gloss finish and EMG pickups.
