This is no ordinary SV. It is an exact replica of Gary Holt’s Liquid Metal Lava SV, the Exodus and Slayer guitarist’s signature model that only Gary owns. This example was built with his authorization: a one-of-a-kind piece for fans of thrash, of Gary, of Randy Rhoads and of aggressive guitars with razor-sharp lines.
Its silhouette is derived from the USA SV, with a longer lower horn than the Japanese SV. The 47mm mahogany body features a top carved directly into the body, leveled down 7mm toward the edges and outlined with red binding. Chiseled contours, a cutting silhouette, no compromise. Its ultra-fast neck makes it a weapon of choice for shredders of every stripe.
Entirely handmade at the Custom Shop in Japan, this Master Built model represents the pinnacle of what the brand can produce. From wood selection to finish, every step is entrusted to the Master Builders, with complete mastery of the craft and exceptional attention paid to every detail.
This SV benefits from an ultra-rigorous tonewood selection, reserved for Custom Order program instruments. It is built around a mahogany body and a 3-piece mahogany neck-thru neck, topped with a red-bound ebony fingerboard with mother-of-pearl diagonal block inlays. The fingerboard edge features red LED side markers, activated by a dedicated switch. Under the hood is the Gary Holt EMG signature set with red covers: an EMG 81 in the bridge and an EMG 89R in the neck, splittable via the push/pull pot. The solid brass ESP FB20-6 bridge is made by the brand’s Custom Shop, on request only. The result: a weapon of mass destruction built for metal, precise, massive, merciless!
