Designing a quality pedalboard and avoiding recurring problems requires experience, a minimum of knowledge of electronics and above all, having the right equipment while knowing how to use it. The Axess Electronics Compatt/O™ provides a quick and easy solution to signal loss and issues with impedance, capacitance and other parameters that negatively impact guitarists' sound.
What is the cause of all these evils? Your musician friends pedals and cables! How to cure it? Provide a global solution that will consolidate the extremely weak signal that comes out of your microphones, your guitar and that goes through your cables (however qualitative they are).
So what is it and how does it work? The Compatt/O is a very high quality Buffer. Basically, it converts your guitar's high impedance (Z) signal to a low impedance signal, which also minimizes its sensitivity to noise, interference, and even the usual "poc!" related to true-bypass pedals. The end result is that variations in play and sound will come from the actual effect of the pedals and not from the signal problems generated by them.
The circuit is based on an Op-amp (technically, an op-amp based voltage follower), with finely tuned input impedance and other characteristics that mimic those of a high quality tube amp. It also includes an RFI filter to minimize radio frequency interference and noise. It allows your guitar to have an ideal dynamic load that remains constant, resulting in a consistent and stable sound, while allowing the guitar to "breathe" and react, as if you were plugged directly into your tube amp adding complexity and dynamics to your sound.
Use the Compatt/O (Out - at the end of the chain) in combination with the Compatt/A (In - at the start of the chain) to create a loop within your effects chain that will separate the guitar and the amp from all the variables connected to each other.
