The Pinnacle Deluxe is housed in a dual format case. On the front we find numerous buttons to interact with it: Volume, Gain, 3-band EQ and 2 mini toggle switches Vintage / Modern and Boost which allow you to adjust the voicing and the amount of gain. We also have access to a Mid-Boost which can be activated via the secondary foot-switch and adjusted via a volume button. This can operate independently.
Connected to a clear channel (very clear for the best result!) we start with everything at 12:00. Immediately, it sounds British, it sounds Marshallesque with this characteristic brilliance in the high-mids that our friend Eddie would not have denied! The EQ responds perfectly, we will tend to slightly push the bass and treble to achieve the famous "brown sound". It is important to note the high quality of Mids' control. Indeed, it acts in a very musical way and allows you to effectively deepen the mids, or, on the contrary, to highlight them to make the harmonics burst forth. By pushing the gain to 3:00 p.m., we reach an imposing level of drive. The Pinnacle Deluxe v2 clearly has more gain than it needs! The most angry among you will be delighted! As if that weren't enough, you can activate the Mid Bost for even more gain, harmonics and to move more easily through the mix. The two toggle switches add some versatility. Vintage mode offers a darker, lower midrange voicing. Modern mode adds shine and sharpness. The boost allows you to engage an additional gain stage. It's tough, it sounds big. Enough to satisfy hard-rockers of all stripes.
With the Pinnacle Deluxe v2, Wampler offers you the legendary sounds of the 80's/90's. If you like Van Halen, Hard FM and other sounds associated with this period, this "marshall in a box" pedal is a classic of the genre that will undoubtedly satisfy you.
