Have you ever dreamed of having a totally transparent "volume boost" and being able to vary the volume of your amp remotely, without having to use a clean boost or a volume pedal? The Master Master is a - remote volume control - which allows you to control the master of your amp remotely and to benefit from two different settings. The kind of tool that we should see much more often!
A quick tour of the owner, the system consists of a pedal and an additional module. The module is actually a VCA (voltage controlled attenuator) and plugs into the amp's effects loop. Inside, an optocoupler so that the signal is as transparent as possible. An effect, it does not pass through any active or mechanical element. The pedal that controls the module can be placed anywhere (preferably on your pedalboard) and connects to the VCA module via a single guitar cable.
Once connected, you can adjust the two "masters" to the desired level and switch between one and the other.
This system offers many advantages over using a booster before or after the preamp:
- no alteration of the sound of the amp
- no additional noise, no ground loop, no phase problems
- no clicks or pops
- benefits from an integrated security (if it is not powered, the amp works on the volume defined by the pedal)
