Originally, the cables developed by Yukihiro Hayashi were made only on request and offered exclusively to the brand's professional clients (Luna Sea, L'Arc～en～Ciel, Matt Schofield, etc.). They are now available to everyone, so we jumped at the opportunity! Free The Tone cables are not your average cables. They are made to order only (so, for us!) and built by three master craftsmen who are experts in their field. It's a typically "Japanese" concept, but once you hold these cables in your hands, you understand how carefully they are made, down to the smallest detail.

Free The Tone cables combine audio quality, extreme mechanical strength and a flexibility-to-weight ratio specifically designed for maximum comfort.
The CUI-6550 is part of the "Integrated" range, launched for the brand's 15th anniversary. This range represents the pinnacle of Free The Tone's know-how when it comes to sound with a capital S. The CUI-6550 has a warm, balanced and above all extremely musical tone. No heavy coloration here, and no pronounced sonic signature that would push one part of the spectrum forward. Yukihiro Hayashi's goal was to create a cable that respects the instrument by interfering as little as possible with its own voice. The key word is "natural."
The CUI-6550 has tight, well-defined lows. They add body to your sound without getting muddy and stay punchy whatever your instrument. The highs are smooth and precise, present without excess and never harsh. The midrange is rich and helps your sound cut through the mix with excellent clarity and presence. And since "silence is golden," the CUI-6550 offers first-class shielding.
The CUI-6550 plug features an original design. It has small ridges that give you an excellent grip when plugging or unplugging the cable from a pedal, for example (even with sweaty hands!). Inside, the connector has a specially developed "tab" for an optimal solder joint, plus a large contact surface for grounding.
