What's your amp? "a Divided by 13..." Yeah... It does, don't you think? :) Divided is the kind of brand that never needed to advertise or anything to get all the greatest guitarists on the planet using their amps. Besides, Divided isn't really a brand, it's more of a person. Fred Taccone. And Fred's amps, I would personally find it hard to call them "amps", as we could call so many others... Why? Quite simply because the Divided are NOT amps like the others. Fred's philosophy is to make the best, and the least we can say is that Mr. Taccone's impressive list of clients speaks for itself and supports this. .. We are here in the best of the best, the strawberry on the cake, the top of the top... And the BTR 23 is the little brawler of the range. This one adopting a typically British voicing, with Divided sauce ;)
Aesthetically, it always depends on individual tastes, but for us, it's a big slap in the face. The complete stack (head and cabinet) is just magnificent. The finish is indisputable, the design is clean, efficient, the manufacturing and the components used are top notch... It's impressive while being sober... And it's as beautiful inside as it is outside . It's a big crush, we're not going to hide it! On the front panel, and from left to right, there are 2 switches, On/Off and Standby, a Master Volume, a 3-band EQ: Bass, Middle, Treble. And finally, a Volume knob which benefits from a Push/Pull to activate a boost which will bring more gain.
On the rear panel, only classic, the usual 4/8/16 ohm outputs. The cabinet features two Celestion G12M Greenbacks and an open panel / a closed panel to use the cabinet as you see fit.
Developed for Paul McCartney guitarist Brian Ray, the BTR 23 is the ultimate "Plexi" by Fred Taccone. Admittedly, it's a single channel, but the BTR shows amazing versatility by being able to deliver most of the typically "British" sounds that are dear to us. Above all, the BTR is an amp that releases little breath, even at high volume and with a high rate of gain. It's appreciated. It generally takes over the power section of the old Plexi, and a Tone stack close to what Vox offered in its infancy. Un has therefore an extremely dynamic amp, with fairly mid-range voicing, and a very wide range of use. As always with Divided, the dynamics are at the top, the amp reacts perfectly whatever your type of playing. It also takes pedals very well and remains extremely musical in all circumstances. We will be able to obtain punchy and crystalline cleans, up to the pushed Overdrive, "fat", fluid, typically Marshallian but with a more organic side and a more balanced spectrum. Strong point of the BTR 23, its Master. This will allow you to use the amp at home, in the studio or on stage, keeping headroom and attack, even at low volume. The highly effective EQ will also go in this direction, allowing you to sculpt your sound as you hear it.
