James Tyler began his business in the early 1970s. Through innovation and attentive listening to the needs of musicians, he built a reputation for excellence. It was the 1980s and 1990s that truly established the brand: top session guitarists in Los Angeles — Mike Landau, Steve Lukather, Tim Pierce, Dean Parks, and Dann Huff— chose James Tyler. Instruments without compromise, James Tyler guitars are the ultimate weapon in recording studios.

A visionary and passionate man, James works hand in hand with these exceptional artists to refine every detail. The result? Guitars with a unique sonic signature, tailored to meet the demands of professionals.

Today, James Tyler offers the Japan line, crafted with extreme care in the Nagano region, a center of Japanese craftsmanship. This workshop, one of the most renowned in the country, is known for its high standards and expertise. The luthiers were trained directly by James Tyler in the United States, ensuring perfect continuity in the brand's philosophy.

These models replicate almost identical features of the US guitars, with a few differences in finish. There's no full custom shop here, but a selection of options allows you to customize your instrument to your liking. James Tyler guitars are played by the greatest, so why not you?
