The front panel is clear and organized, and the large knobs make an immediate impression. Two switches complete the package: Sun\/Moon (the two \"hearts\" of the preamp) and Reverb On\/Off. On the rear panel: a remote input for controlling the reverb (active only when the front panel switch is OFF), speaker outputs (with impedance matching), the IEC connector, and the fuses. The heart of the amp is based on 2× EL34 and 3× 12AX7 tubes, with custom-made, oversized transformers manufactured in Italy. Frankly, we've never had such a clean channel for under €1700. It's unprecedented and blows away everything else in this price range, as well as many much more expensive amps.\u003cbr\u003e The attack is ultra-fast, the bass is tight, and there's an explosive edge to the attack that makes the Azary impressive from the very first minutes of playing. Pushing the gain creates a subtle but highly addictive breakup, which can be perfectly cleaned up with the volume knob, while maintaining the shimmy and dynamics.\u003cbr\u003e The Sun\/Moon mods allow you to change the gain stage structure, switching from a wide, clean sound with high headroom to a denser, crunchier voicing, all while remaining on the same channel. The 3-band EQ, combined with the Presence control, is remarkably effective, and the digital spring reverb (based on an Accutronics) adds cohesion and depth. It can be adjusted using the Time knob for length and the Mix knob to blend the signal.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e In short: the Azary is for guitarists who want the simplicity of a single-channel amp, but with two true signature tones instantly available, and an amp that serves as an impressive foundation for your pedals.
